Mother-daughter duo Michi and Lea created arkitaip after Lea saw a photo of her mum in her twenties wearing a handmade crochet bikini. Enamoured, she persuaded her mother to make another. When all of Lea’s friends wanted one arkitaip was born.

Together they create eco-friendly organic linen clothes, with every part of the production process taking place in Europe to ensure minimal carbon footprint. Their Austrian linen is certified with the Global Organic Textile Standard while the Italian linen is certified with the Masters of Linen mark. These certifications ensure that all the fabric in arkitaip clothes meets strong ecological and social standards.

Their commitment towards eco-fashion doesn’t end once a sale has been made. They ask their customers to send back clothes once they don’t want them anymore, offering to pay postage, in order to close the loop of their garments life cycles. This ensures responsible recycling and upcycling. The crochet work for arkitaip is still all lovingly handmade by co-founder Michi! You can browse these delicate and eco-friendly garments here
